The thing worth knowing before you evaluate it: SolarWinds eliminated perpetual licensing entirely as of August 2025, following its acquisition by Turn/River Capital. New contracts require a mandatory 3-year subscription commitment, and multiple independent sources — plus user reports on review sites — describe steep renewal price increases for existing customers. If you’re used to thinking of DPA as a one-time purchase, that’s no longer how it’s sold.
